Reverse description A large ornate helm surmounts a central shield of arms divided into three smaller escutcheons: the upper left bearing a lion rampant for the Palatinate, the upper right bearing the lozengy field of Bavaria, and the lower shield bearing the arms of the electoral office with the date split across its base. The helm is elaborately mantled with decorative scrollwork and topped by a crest. The encircling Latin legend identifies the coinage of the Upper Palatinate and Bavaria.
