Obverse description Draped bust of Francis William of Wartenberg facing right, wearing a cardinal's biretta and ecclesiastical robes, with flowing curled hair and a beard visible at the chin. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine drapery detail characteristic of mid-17th century German taler coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, with the date 1661 incorporated into the legend at the upper left. The coin is framed by an inner beaded border and an outer milled edge.
