Obverse description Laureate, draped bust of Ferdinand III facing right, with broad flowing curls, a necklace, and the pendant of the Order of the Golden Fleece suspended below. Immediately behind the neck in the legend field, a crowned twofold Hungarian shield is positioned, while to the right of the bust stands the Madonna on a crescent. The effigy is rendered in the high-Baroque portrait style typical of mid-seventeenth-century Habsburg coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition.
