(Translation: Ferdinandus III. Dei Gratia Romanorum Imperator Semper Augustus Germaniae Hungariae Bohemiae Rex - Ferdinand III., by the grace of God Emperor of the Romans, Always August, King of Germany, Hungary, Bohemia.)
Reverse description Crowned Imperial double-headed eagle displayed, with wings spread, bearing on its breast a large quartered heraldic shield incorporating the arms of Hungary (barry of eight with the Árpád stripes) and the other hereditary Habsburg territories. The mint mark K-B (Kremnica) appears divided at the base of the eagle, flanking the lower tail feathers. The date 1648 is placed in the upper portion of the legend, which encircles the design within a raised border and reads ARCHIDVX · AVS · DVX · BVR · MAR · MOR · CO · TYR, enumerating Ferdinand's archaducal and comital titles. The reverse is executed in the bold, high-relief Baroque style typical of Kremnica thaler coinage of this period.
