Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Archduke Ferdinand II of Tyrol in right profile, wearing an ornate crown and elaborate plate armor with decorative gorget and pauldrons. The figure holds a scepter in his right hand, with the imperial orb visible at lower left. The bust occupies the majority of the coin's field, rendered in high relief in the late Renaissance style characteristic of the Hall Mint. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the effigy along the inner border, reading FERDINANDVS D G ARCHID AVSTRIAE.
