Obverse description Laureate and armored bust of Emperor Ferdinand II facing right, wearing a ruffled collar and elaborately decorated armor, set within a beaded inner circle. The date is divided by the bust, appearing on either side within the field. The surrounding legend reads in Latin along the outer border, identifying the emperor by his full imperial and royal titles. The portrait is rendered in fine detail characteristic of the Hall mint's skilled workmanship of this period.
