Obverse description Laureate and armored bust of Emperor Ferdinand II facing right, wearing an elaborate ruffled collar and richly decorated cuirass with the Order of the Golden Fleece suspended at the neck. The emperor is portrayed with a short beard and moustache in the refined Renaissance court style typical of Graz Mint production. The date 1623 appears in the field at the base of the truncation. A beaded inner circle frames the effigy, while the surrounding Latin legend reads FERDINANDVS II D G I R O I S A G H B REX, separated by small star ornaments.
