| Reverse description | The entire reverse field is occupied by a ten-line funerary inscription in bold Roman capitals, recording the precise date and hour of the death of Count Ernest III on 17 January 1622, between the seventh and eighth morning hours, and noting that he had lived 52 years, 3 months, 24 days and 1 hour, and had reigned 20 years, 6 months, 15 days and 4 hours. The text is framed above and below by small decorative foliate ornaments, with the whole contained within a beaded inner border and a milled outer rim. |
