| Obverse description | Draped bust of Ernest Augustus, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg and Bishop of Osnabrück, facing right, with long flowing curled hair typical of the late Baroque style. The portrait displays fine high-relief workmanship, with the subject's garment rendered in elaborate drapery at the truncation.
