| Obverse description | Central field displays the elaborately mantled and crowned arms of the Magdeburg Cathedral Chapter, flanked by decorative foliage and scrollwork rendered in high relief. The date appears divided at the top of the inner circle, flanking the top of the escutcheon. A beaded inner circle separates the arms from the outer legend. The circumferential legend reads MONBVRG ITEPISCOPVS in Latin capital letters, with the full inscription CAPITVLVM MAGDEBVRGENSE distributed around the coin's periphery. |

| Reverse description | Full-length standing figure of Saint Maurice, patron saint of Magdeburg, depicted in elaborate full plate armour with a nimbus above his head. He holds an upright lance or standard in his right hand and rests his left hand upon a large heraldic shield bearing an eagle. The saint stands facing front, with a second smaller shield or trophy at his feet. The figure is contained within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by the circumferential Latin legend S. MAVRITIVS in Roman capital letters. |
