Obverse description Eleven-fold quartered coat of arms of the Counts of Stolberg surmounted by three ornate crested helmets with elaborate mantling; the date is divided among the feathers of the helmet crests. The encircling Latin legend contains the titles and names of the two ruling counts, Christoph II and Henry Volrad, separated by decorative stops within a beaded inner border.

Reverse description A stag passant to the left standing on grassy ground occupies the central field, with a small imperial orb above its back. The continuation of the comital titles from the obverse legend surrounds the central device in a circular Latin inscription, separated by pellet stops, all contained within a beaded border. The overall style is characteristic of early seventeenth-century German territorial coinage.
