Obverse description Central field displays an oval two-fold coat of arms combining the electoral and ducal arms of Saxony, set within an elaborate ornamental cartouche. The shield is divided to show the traditional Saxon barry with a crancelin and the electoral swords, surrounded by decorative Renaissance-style flourishes. A continuous Latin legend running along the periphery of the coin records the titles and style of Elector Christian I of Saxony.
