Obverse description The central field displays a large, elaborately quartered coat of arms of the Duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, surmounted by a princely crown with cross finial. Two wild men (Wildmänner) serve as heraldic supporters, each holding a staff or banner and standing on a decorative plinth. The shield bears multiple heraldic quarterings incorporating lions, eagles, and other dynastic charges. The surrounding legend reads D • G • CAROLVS DVX BRVNSVIC LVNEB with the date 1744, interrupted at the crown, and is rendered in Roman capitals within the milled border.
