Obverse description Large crowned oval escutcheon bearing the complex quartered arms of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, flanked by two standing wildmen (Wilde Männer) as supporters, each holding a tree-trunk club and turned inward toward the shield. The escutcheon is surmounted by a large ducal crown and rests on an ornate baroque cartouche with scrollwork and crossed implements at the base. The circular legend surrounds the entire composition along the rim, with the date 1761 incorporated into the right field.
