Reverse description The traditional heraldic leaping horse of Brunswick-Lüneburg, depicted in full gallop to the left with its mane and tail streaming dramatically, set above a ground line that divides the field from the lower exergual area. The circular legend NVNQVAM RETRORSVM followed by the date 1779 runs around the upper periphery. Below the ground line, in two lines within the exergue, appears the denomination and mint convention inscription X EINE FEINE MARK / CONVENT.M., with the mintmaster's initials M.C. on a third line. The entire design is framed by a toothed border.
