| Reverse description | Elaborately quartered coat of arms displayed on an ornate shield, surmounted by a large electoral bonnet and flanked by decorative Renaissance scrollwork and foliate mantling. The shield incorporates the arms of the Archbishopric of Cologne — the black cross on silver — together with the Schaumburg family arms, showing a lion and other heraldic charges. The date 1556 appears divided in the field to either side of the shield. The circular Latin legend around the periphery identifies this as a new silver coin of Deutz (Tuitium). |
