Obverse description Facing draped bust of Archbishop Anselm Casimir Wamboldt of Umstadt, wearing a ruffled collar and elaborately ornamented vestments, set within a beaded inner circle. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the baroque style, with the subject gazing directly forward. The surrounding Latin legend reads along the coin's periphery within the raised rim.

Reverse description A complex heraldic achievement consisting of the quartered arms of the Archbishopric of Mainz impaled with the personal arms of the Wamboldt family, surmounted by a archbishop's mitre and flanked by elaborate baroque mantling and supporters. The divided date 16-42 appears to either side of the shield. The surrounding Latin legend occupies the full periphery of the coin within a beaded border.
