Obverse description Draped bust of Abbot Adolphus von Dalberg facing right, wearing a richly decorated ecclesiastical cope adorned with elaborate floral and foliate ornament, with a lace cravat visible at the neck. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque style, with the subject's curled wig falling to the shoulder. The circumferential legend in Latin reads ADOLPH D G S R I P AB FVLD D A A C P G & G P, separated by pellets, contained within a beaded border.

Reverse description Elaborate Baroque quartered coat of arms of the Abbey of Fulda, borne on a cartouche framed by scrolling acanthus mantling, surmounted by multiple helmets bearing a variety of crests including a cross, a bishop's mitre with flanking pennants, and a crown. The date 1729 is divided by the lower scrollwork, with 17 to the left and 29 to the right. The circumferential legend CANDORE ET AMORE arcs across the upper field. The entire composition is contained within a beaded border.
