| Reverse description | A standing angel facing, flanked by two heraldic shields — the Nuremberg city arms to the left and the Imperial eagle shield to the right — with a Roman numeral date inscribed in the exergue below. The composition is rendered in high relief with fine engraving characteristic of Nuremberg workshop production of the mid-seventeenth century. On peace-year issues (1648, 1649, 1657), the angel is depicted holding a palm branch and a laurel branch, commemorating the Peace of Westphalia. |
