Obverse description Panoramic view of the city of Nuremberg with numerous church spires and towers stretching across the field. Above the cityscape, three ornate baroque cartouches display heraldic shields: the imperial eagle on the central shield flanked by two shields bearing the Nuremberg arms (divided per pale with an eagle and diagonal stripes). The outer circular legend reads MO REIPUB NORIBERC, while a second Latin inscription in an elaborate scrollwork cartouche in the lower field reads NVRINBERGA DIV CHRISTI SIT TVTA SVB VMBRA. A star appears at the top of the field above the central shield.
