| Obverse description | Central field bears the elaborate civic arms of Hildesheim: a quartered shield displaying the city's heraldic devices, surmounted by an ornate helm with a crest depicting a figure above foliate mantling that fills the field with exuberant baroque scrollwork. The composition is framed by an inner beaded border. The circumferential legend reads MONETA NOVA CIVITATIS HILDESHEIMENSIS, identifying this as new coinage of the city of Hildesheim. |
