Obverse description Central shield bearing the arms of Worms — a key and cross motif on a quartered field — flanked by two rampant dragons serving as heraldic supporters, with elaborate foliate and scroll mantling rising above the shield surmounted by a small six-pointed star. The entire composition is rendered in high relief characteristic of early seventeenth-century German hammered coinage. The circular Latin legend reads MON·NOV·LIB·IMP·CIVIT·VORM· (New Money of the Free Imperial City of Worms), disposed around the periphery within a beaded border.
