Obverse description Diademed head of Euthydemos I facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic tradition with fleshy, mature facial features characteristic of the Bactrian royal portrait type. The diadem is depicted with visible ties trailing behind the head. The hair is rendered in layered waves above the brow, and the neck is strong and naturalistic. The portrait occupies the full field of the flan in a bold, slightly stylized local imitation style.

Reverse description Nude Herakles seated left on a rocky outcrop, his muscular body rendered in the Hellenistic manner, resting with his right hand upon his knee and holding his club upright in his left hand. A lion skin is draped over the rock beside him. The Greek legend is disposed vertically on either side of the central figure, identifying the issuing authority in standard Bactrian royal formulaic phrasing.
