| Obverse description | Central field features the elaborate papal arms of Innocent XI (Benedetto Odescalchi), displaying a quartered shield with an eagle in the upper dexter and a lion passant in the lower sinister quarters, topped by the papal tiara and flanked by the crossed keys of Saint Peter tied with a cord. The shield is set within an ornate cartouche with foliate scrollwork. The circular legend reads INNOCENTIVS XI PONT MAX, arranged around the periphery of the coin, with the milled border encircling the entire design. |
