Reverse description Saint George on horseback rearing to the right, thrusting a lance downward to slay the dragon, which writhes beneath the horse's hooves in dynamic baroque composition. Below the equestrian group, the papal arms of Clement XI are displayed, consisting of a tiara and crossed keys above an ornate shield, flanked by the divided date 17-10. The circular legend S·GEORGIVS PROT·FERRARIÆ identifies the patron saint as protector of Ferrara, with stops separating the abbreviated words around the coin's periphery.
