Reverse description Full-length figure of Saint Bruno of Cologne, founder of the Carthusian Order, depicted standing in three-quarter view in his white Carthusian habit with arms slightly extended, ascending amid billowing clouds in a scene of heavenly glorification. A halo of seven stars encircles his tonsured head. At the lower center, beneath the clouds, appears the papal coat of arms in the exergue. The surrounding legend SANCTI BRVNONSIS identifies the subject as Saint Bruno, engraved in the Baroque style characteristic of the Hamerani workshop.
