Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend arranged within a circular cartouche, invoking the names of the four orthodox caliphs (al-Khulafa al-Rashidun). The surrounding marginal legend reads 'al-imam al-a'zam al-adl abu'l mujahid' in Naskh-style Arabic script, encircling the central inscription. The overall design is typical of Bengal Sultanate hammered silver tankas, with densely packed calligraphic elements filling the flat, irregular flan.
