Obverse description Central field occupied by bold Arabic calligraphic legends arranged in multiple registers, giving the regnal titles and name of the ruler. An inner circle separates the central inscription from a broad marginal legend running continuously around the periphery, which includes the ruler's name in Nagari script reading 'Sri Sher Shah' along with the AH date 950. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, characteristic of hammered coinage of the Sur period.
