| Reverse description | Hammered copper reverse bearing a four-line Arabic legend in Naskh script across the central field, reading 'Shams al-Dunya / wa al-Din Abu / al-Nasr' followed by the regnal year numeral '٩٧٦' (AH 976, corresponding to 1568-1569 CE). The honorific epithets 'Sun of the World and the Faith, Father of Victory' reflect the sultan's full royal titulature as employed on the coinage of the Gujarat Sultanate. The inscription is deeply struck in the center with some softness toward the irregular periphery, consistent with the hammered technique. |
