The central text carries the Islamic declaration of faith (the Shahada), distributed across several lines in an angular, somewhat informal Naskh-influenced hand typical of hammered sultanate issues. The legends are contained within a plain border, and the irregular flan edges show the characteristic uneven striking of hand-hammered silver coinage. |
