| Reverse description | The reverse field is entirely occupied by a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged in horizontal registers across the flat flan, with no pictorial device. The central text carries the Islamic declaration of faith (the Shahada), distributed across several lines in an angular, somewhat informal Naskh-influenced hand typical of hammered sultanate issues. The legends are contained within a plain border, and the irregular flan edges show the characteristic uneven striking of hand-hammered silver coinage. |
