Obverse description Central field bears a multi-line Arabic legend in Naskh script proclaiming the royal titulature of the issuing sultan: 'Al-Sultan al-Azam Shams al-Dunya wa'l-Din Abu'l-Muzaffar Firuz Shah al-Sultan.' The inscription is arranged in horizontal lines within an undecorated field, characteristic of early Bengal Sultanate hammered coinage, with no figurative imagery in keeping with Islamic numismatic tradition.
