Obverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged in four lines, reading the full royal titulature of the sultan. The legend proclaims: al-sultan al-azam, qutb al-dunya wa'l-din, abu'l-muzaffar mubarakshah, al-sultan bin al-sultan — designating the ruler as the Greatest Sultan, Axis of the World and of the Faith, Father of Victory, Mubarak Shah, Sultan son of Sultan. The inscription is executed in angular Naskh script typical of early fourteenth-century Delhi Sultanate coinage, filling the flan without a decorative border.
