Reverse description The reverse field is filled with a multi-line Arabic inscription in bold Naskh script, enclosed within a plain linear border with decorative pellets at the cardinal points. The legend invokes the reigning Abbasid Caliph al-Musta'sim Billah, Commander of the Faithful, affirming the sultan's religious legitimacy and nominal subordination to the Caliphate. The script is deeply and prominently struck, with the characteristic bold strokes of Delhi Sultanate hammered coinage. The flan shows slight irregularity at the edges, consistent with hand manufacture. The overall composition is well-centred, with the inscription occupying the full breadth of the die.
