| Obverse description | Central field contains a rectangular cartouche enclosing a multi-line Arabic religious legend in Naskh script, the Shahada: 'There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God, He who sent him with guidance.' The text is arranged in three horizontal lines within a ruled border. The hammered flan exhibits characteristic irregular edges and surface texture typical of late Ayyubid provincial coinage. |
