Obverse description Central field bears four large Chinese ideograms arranged in a cruciform reading pattern — top to bottom, right to left — denoting the reign title and denomination. Manchu script legend appears across the upper portion of the field, flanking the central ideograms. A further two-character Chinese legend below identifies the issuing authority (Board of Revenue) and denomination value. The overall design is unframed within the field, with all inscriptions rendered in incuse relief against a plain ground. The composition is purely epigraphic, with no pictorial device on this face.
