Obverse description Central field bears four principal Chinese ideograms arranged vertically in two columns, read top to bottom and right to left, denoting the denomination and fineness. A surrounding legend in Chinese characters encircles the central inscription, forming a complete annular border of text. The inscription specifies the issuing authority, the regnal year, and the silver standard, all rendered in a formal, rectilinear calligraphic style consistent with late Qing imperial coinage conventions. No figurative imagery or portrait appears on this face; the design is entirely typographic in character.
