The 1 Türk Lirası of 1930 belongs to the inaugural emission of the newly established Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası, which was formally founded in October 1931 — meaning these notes were technically authorized before the central bank itself existed in its final legal form, issued instead under transitional authority as the republic moved to consolidate monetary control away from the Ottoman-era Osmanlı Bankası. Thomas De La Rue handled the printing, as they did for much of Turkey's early republican paper, providing the technical credibility the young institution needed.
The P#125A designation distinguishes this from subsequent signature varieties within the same basic design.
