| Obverse description | Hammered gold flan of irregular roundness, entirely covered by multiple lines of Arabic calligraphic legend arranged in three horizontal registers, separated by ruled lines. The field bears the sultan's titulature in flowing Naskh script. An inner dotted border encircles the inscriptions, itself enclosed within a plain outer rim. The die-struck legends identify the issuing sultan and the mint of Tunis, occupying virtually the entire coin surface in the traditional Ottoman hammered sultani format. |
