Obverse description The obverse displays the regional name 'WEST FRISIÆ' arranged in three horizontal lines across the field in large, bold Roman capital letters, filling the coin face in a distinctive typographic layout. A mint privy mark (here a turnip) flanked by two six-pointed stars is positioned in the upper field above the lettering. The date 1724 appears in the exergue below, its numerals rendered in the same bold serif style. The entire design is contained within a toothed or reeded border. No effigy is present; the inscription itself constitutes the primary design element.
