Obverse description Central field occupied by a crowned quartered shield of arms, the crown rising prominently above the escutcheon. The denomination numeral and stuiver abbreviation appear flanking the shield, dividing the surrounding Latin legend. The inscription, arranged in the outer circle, records the coin's status as new silver coinage of the imperial city of Kampen. The date 1621 is integrated into the legend. The entire design is characteristic of Dutch hammered municipal coinage of the early seventeenth century, with an irregular flan typical of hand-struck production.
