Reverse description Central device consists of a floriated long cross with ornate, quatrefoil-like terminals, surmounted by a crown at the top arm, creating a distinctive cruciform composition characteristic of Dutch stuiver coinage of the early seventeenth century. Small pellets or annulets appear in the angles between the cross arms, filling the inner field. The peripheral Latin legend · FORTITVDO · NOSTRA · DEVS · encircles the design, translating as 'God is our strength,' a pious motto frequently employed on Utrecht civic issues. The hammered flan exhibits the characteristic irregular outline and uneven strike of the period.
