Obverse description Crowned quartered shield of arms of Cleves, bearing in the quarters the heraldic devices of the constituent territories, including a lion and an anchor cross, surmounted by a royal crown. The date 1669 appears divided to either side of the crown in the upper field. The circular legend runs around the periphery, partially visible, reading NUMMUS CLIVENSIS with the denomination mark 1 S.
