Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King George III facing right, rendered in high relief in the neoclassical style engraved by Thomas Wyon the Younger. The king's hair is bound with a laurel wreath, and the truncation of the bust reveals a draped shoulder. The circumferential legend reads GEORGIUS III D G BRITANNIARUM REX, disposed around the effigy within a raised rim.
