| Obverse description | Central floriated cross with elaborately curling foliate terminals occupying most of the field, a small rose or rosette at the crossing point. The arms of the cross are rendered in a lush, decorative late-Gothic style typical of Netherlandish hammered coinage of the late sixteenth century. A beaded inner circle frames the design, with the Latin legend running continuously around the outer border of the flan. |
