Obverse description Left-facing draped bust of Liberty with coiled hair, wearing a coronet inscribed LIBERTY. The legend encircling the obverse field reads '6G .3S .7C 7GRAMS' interspersed with six-pointed stars, denoting the proposed metallic composition and total weight of the coin. The date 1880 appears at the lower rim. The portrait was engraved by George T. Morgan in a classically idealized style.
