| Reverse description | Central device features an elaborately detailed heraldic coat of arms surmounted by a crowned helmet with ornate mantling, and a fleur-de-lis finial at the apex, referencing the Burgundian medieval tradition. The shield displays quartered armorial bearings including fleurs-de-lis and lions passant. A circular legend surrounds the entire composition, reading CENTRE EUROPEEN D'ETUDES BURGONDO-MEDIANES in the upper arc and ERSTER EUROPA TALER PREMIER ECU D'EUROPE in the lower arc, with the text oriented radially around the central device. The mint mark and fineness indication 900 appear at the base of the field. The piece is engraved by Hans Köttenstorfer and struck by the Münze Österreich. |
