| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Frederik VI, rendered in high relief with fine neoclassical detail, depicting the king with short, naturalistically styled hair and a braided queue at the nape of the neck. The truncation of the bust is unadorned, cutting cleanly below the collar. The encircling Latin legend reads FREDERICUS VI D:G : DAN : V : G : REX, with the engraver's initials I.C. placed at the lower right of the field. The portrait, engraved by Johannes Conradsen, reflects the restrained Neoclassical aesthetic characteristic of early nineteenth-century Danish coinage. The border is defined by a continuous row of fine beading. |
