| Obverse description | Draped bust of King Frederik III with long flowing hair, facing right, set within a laurel wreath. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the wreath, identifying the king and his titles. The entire design is contained within a beaded inner ring applied to the rim. The portrait is executed in the baroque style typical of mid-17th century Scandinavian coinage. |
