Obverse description Crowned and armored bust of Frederik III facing right, portrayed in the Baroque style with long flowing hair and elaborate plate armor with lace cravat visible at the collar. The king's crown is an open royal crown resting atop the flowing locks, and the truncation of the bust is richly detailed with pauldrons and decorative armor elements. A beaded inner border separates the effigy from the surrounding circumferential legend. The Latin legend reads FRIDERICUS III DG DAN NORVE VAN GOT REX, running continuously around the periphery between two borders, the outer being a toothed milled rim.
