| Obverse description | Crowned and draped bust of King Frederik III facing right, wearing a royal crown and armor adorned with a lion's head at the shoulder, with long flowing curls falling to the neck. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the baroque portrait style typical of Danish coinage of the mid-17th century. A circular legend in Latin runs along the periphery, separated from the bust by a plain inner field. The entire design is contained within a toothed or milled border. |
